The UIIA is a contract between Motor Carriers, Ocean & Rail Carriers and Chassis Leasing Companies that outlines all of the contractual agreements regarding interchanging intermodal equipment and accessing intermodal facilities.

Certain Intermodal Chassis Leasing Companies require that you register directly with their company and complete a leasing agreement that will set forth terms for interchanging their equipment

-All for-hire carriers interchanging intermodal equipment that originates in or is destined to another state (interstate) must possess a DOT number, operating authority (MC) and have a BOC-3 filing.

Auto Liability:                  $1,000,000 CSL

General Liability:             $1,000,000 CSL

Motor Truck Cargo:         $100,000-250,000 CSL

Trailer Interchange:         $25,000-65,000

Worker’s Compensation: $500,000 per occurrence/employee/policy limit
